Ms. Suzanne Mayo is CEO of Mynette Management Company and professional speaker/consultant from Manhattan, Kansas. Ms. Mayo distinguishes herself as an Ambassador of Goodwill helping women and children around the world heal themselves after bad relationships. She is the mother of a 14 year-old son Destin Theus. Diane Abbott, Member of Parliament, London, England calls Suzanne her good friend, “The Dot Connector,” and invited Suzanne to be the keynote international speaker in 2005 10th Anniversary of The Black Women Mean Business Conference in London. Suzanne is a motivational speaker and innovative thinker with a charm and ease that inspires those who come in contact with her to soar like eagles. Suzanne also has experience providing organizational leadership in the areas of workforce diversity/inclusion, expanding organizational dialogue on diversity, inclusiveness, business and learning opportunities for serving underrepresented and immigrant populations in academia and community agencies. Ms. Mayo has traveled internationally as a speaker and consultant primarily for colleges and universities as well as local, state, regional and federal agencies dealing with such subject matters as: diversity, culture, personal motivation, college success, leadership, organizational effectiveness, racial identity, media, student life and mentoring and fundraising. She is responsible for raising more than $50,000 million for not-for-profit organizations and institutions of higher education. Her continuous work has been in helping to rebuild her homestate of Louisiana devastated by Hurricane Katrina. She was responsible for taking 18 trips to New Orleans and organizing student groups and corporate executives to garner support and do clean-up for the thousands of persons displaced by Hurricane Katrina. She remains committed to this cause as she travels around the country advocating for restoring New Orleans. Her most recent work has been with Wiley College in Marshall, TX – The home of the Great Debaters movie starring Denzel Washigton and produced by Oprah Winfrey that yielded Denzel contributing $1 million dollars for the re-establishment of their debate team. Suzanne with her charming way coordinated the world premiere of this movie and simply asked Denzel to help this historically black college and he answered with a resounding YES.

Ms. Mayo holds a bachelor’s degree from Grambling State University, a master’s degree from the University of the District of Columbia, and is currently a Ph.D. student in Family Studies and Human Services at Kansas State University. She has been a guest lecturer and graduate assistant with Leadership Studies and Programs in the College of Education teaching Introduction to Leadership Theories and Culture and Context from 2005-2007. Currently, she is a graduate teaching assistant in the School of Family Studies and Human Services and serves as the Graduate Coordinator for The K-State Student Saves Campaign. Her research interest includes: “Children with Parents in Prison,” “Grandparents Raising Grandchildren” and “Success of Adolescent Boys.”

Ms. Mayo adds to her credit, author of two publications: “The Do’s and Don’ts of Fundraising: How to Become a Successful Fundraiser” and “The Do’s and Don’ts of Diversity Philanthropy Leadership: Up Close and Personal.” Other manuscripts in progress are: “Mothering Beyond Bars: Celebrating Mothers Day Everyday”, “Celebrating Diversity: Our Stories-Part III”, “Suzanne’s Solutions to Survival and Success After Bad Relationship” and “Creating Partnerships In Higher Education.”

Suzanne is active in many charitable organizations around the country and involved in serving on various national boards. She is active in her church and continues to work on empowering women around the world.
